Return to River City (2007)
Bob Kearns chaired and wrote this show which commemorated the 50th anniversary of the opening of The Music Man on Broadway. Many of the Music Man songs including “Seventy Six Trombones," “Sincere,” “Lida Rose,” “Trouble,” and “Till There Was You” (which featured a lovely solo by SAA student Erin Love) were performed by either the chorus or quartets. The stage setting for this show was the most elaborate of any of our shows to date. Quartets featured were Fully Invested, Driftaway, Savannah Sounds, Savannah Skylarks as well as additional quartets assembled specifically for this show, namely Sioux City Boys, Mason City Slickers and Field of Dreams. The Savannah Arts Academy Skylark Chorus and a quartet, Quad City Sound, composed of students we sponsored at the Dixie Harmony Explosion Weekend, also sang.
